WHAT ARE GOWALKSPORTUGAL?

Gowalksportugal are an initiative of the Company of Tourist Animation "GO! Leisure & Heritage, Unip. Lda". This company, created in 2012 by a local inhabitant formed by the University of Coimbra in "Tourism, Leisure and Heritage", is registered in RNAAT (National Registry of Agents of Tourist Animation) with nr. 237/2012.\nWe advise all our clients to always request proof of certification, and an invoice with data such as taxpayer number when they enjoy guided tours in Portugal!

WHO ARE YOUR EMPLOYEES?

Our employees are locals with certified higher education in areas such as Tourism, Leisure and Heritage, Architecture, Archeology, History, History of Art ... passionate about the region that they promote. They also love meeting people of the most varied nationalities, sharing with them everything good that Portugal has!

HOW CAN I BOOK A VISIT?

You can contact us through this website (www.gowalksportugal.com) and make the reservation of the desired guided tour. We will need to know the desired visit, date and time, the name of all participants and an email contact as well as a telephone number.\nAfter we receive this request, we will confirm availability.\nIf you are already in Coimbra you can also visit our physical space and try to book directly with us!

WHERE CAN I FIND YOU IN COIMBRA?

Our place is called "Sítio do Património" and is located at Visconde da Luz Street, Visconde Shopping Center, 1º st floor – nr. 10.

WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING HOURS?

Our place is opened from Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

I AM ALREADY IN COIMBRA: CAN I RESERVE A GUIDED VISIT RIGHT AWAY?

Although we work every day of the year, our guided tours are subject to guide availability and have a limited number of participants. For this reason, we advise you to book as far in advance as possible. However, you can contact us in person in Coimbra (Monday to Friday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Visconde da Luz Street, Visconde Shopping Center - 1st floor, nr. 10) or call 00351 239 198 472 to check availability on the same day!

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR YOU TO REPLY MY E-MAIL?

We try to respond to all emails within a maximum of 24 hours. During the week our opening hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and we can answer relatively quickly within that time. During the weekend we check all emails at the end of the day, reserving one hour to respond to all requests on a first come/first served basis.

PROBLEMS OF LOCOMOTION / FOOD RESTRICTIONS / HEALTH PROBLEMS / TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN / BABIES ... CAN I PARTICIPATE IN YOUR VISITS?

Our visits are available to anyone, regardless of age and limitations! Please, if you have any special requests let us know and we will do our best to provide you with the best experience!

I WANT TO DO A GUIDED VISIT TO A SITE THAT IS NOT MENTIONED ON YOUR WEBSITE / I WANT TO LIGHTLY CHANGE ONE OF THE SUGGESTED ROUTES ON YOUR WEBSITE - HOW DO I DO IT?

If you have not found what you want you can ask for a tailored tour and we will build a route for you, visiting the places that you most want within the themes that interest you most: Gastronomy, Jewish Heritage, Roman Legacy, World Heritage, etc!

WHAT SHOULD I TAKE FOR A GUIDED VISIT?

All of our visits involve some walking, even those in which we use the car to move between points of interest. For this reason, we advise all our customers to bring comfortable clothing and footwear: in winter hiking boots and waterproof clothing, during summer sandals or hiking shoes and cool clothes, in the fall and spring several layers of clothing as the temperature suffers abrupt changes during the day! It is advisable to always carry a bottle of water and a snack.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

As soon as our clients book a visit, a guide will be assigned to it and guaranteed to do the service. In addition, we will refuse all other requests for guided tours for the same day/time, committing ourselves to our customers. For this reason, we do not make refunds. However, we may re-schedule the visit within the availability of our guide(s) by giving our clients a credit note lasting for 12 months from the date of the visit. This credit note can be used by the person making the reservation or by any other person (friend, family, acquaintance) visiting Portugal.

WHY AREN’T GOWALKSPORTUGAL "FREE-TOURS"?

Our company is based by the principles of "fair trade" and we believe that all our employees should be properly remunerated for their services, providing them with a fair labor contract in order to provide them with happiness in their professional lives and stability in their personal life. Our customers should also be assured of quality service, and know exactly what they are paying.\nWe also believe that all companies must scrupulously comply with their tax obligations, as well as assure clients of a quality service by hiring qualified people, subscribing to the insurances required by law (work accident insurance, third party personal accident insurance, civil liability insurance), among other legal measures required by the Portuguese Government to regulate Tourism Animation companies.\nThe company also carries out initiatives of social responsibility, actively collaborating in events of promotion and preservation of the Local Heritage, making partnerships with other institutions based in Portugal.\nIn addition, many of our visits have associated costs that we decided to include to simplify the life for our clients: entrances to monuments, transportation, food and drinks, etc. See descriptions of each guided tour for more information!\nWe intend to extend the range of services of Tourist Animation, and optimize more and more the services that we already have. We have therefore been making a constant investment - since 2012 - to provide unique moments of leisure as our guests enjoy the local Heritage!
